Homemade Gingerbread Cake

When you are looking for a classic Christmas dessert look no further than this Homemade Gingerbread Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting.  With all the taste of the season, this one is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser.

How to make Homemade Gingerbread Cake

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Molasses
  • 1 1/3 cup Flour
  • 1 heaping teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 heaping tsp of Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • The Best Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Christmas Sprinkles

Cream together softened butter and brown sugar in a mixer.

Measure 1/2 cup of Molasses.

Add egg, milk and molasses and beat.  The mixture will not be fully incorporated.

In a separate bowl add and mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ground ginger and nutmeg. Add flour mixture into wet ingredients.  Mix until incorporated. Do not over mix.

Bake the cake 20-25 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Once the cake is completely cooled, frost it with the Best Cream Cheese Frosting.  We had a some Christmas Sprinkles for a little extra Christmas pizzazz. So pretty.
